Amenities of the silver coast
Climate
The silver coast is considered to have a mild climate with temperatures ranging up to 35ºC in summer and 16ºC to 18ºC in winter. The early spring and autumn climate is very pleasant, the summer months of May to September can be very warm and Christmas & New Year are mild ! Local Events and Festivals are ongoing so there will always be something to see and do.
Culture
Portugal has a rich variety of historical buildings, churches, monasteries, fortresses, cathedrals and museums all set in the background of a modern contemporary society. We recommend visiting the Sanctuary of Fatima; Cistercian Abbey in Alcobaça or the medieval villa and castle in Obidos.
Restarunts
Portuguese food is varied, consisting of many regional specialities, that have evolved from local traditions and ingredients. Some of the characteristics of Portuguese food are that it is natural, fresh, healthy and very delicious. Due to the geographic location, Portugal consumes more fish in their diet than other European country. Portuguese have earned a reputation for being "sweet toothed" due to their cakes and pastries, however no visit to Portugal is complete without a taste of the rich-flavoured port wine and brandies as well as their regional wines and cheeses.
